How to Buy Aster (ASTER) for the First Time: 2026 Guide

By WebDeskOctober 20, 20267 Mins Read

To buy ASTER, open an account on an exchange that lists it, verify your identity, deposit funds, and buy on the ASTER/USDT spot market. ASTER is the token of Aster, a decentralized exchange for perpetual futures with close ties to Binance. Binance also hosts the most active ASTER market, so it leads this guide. Further down, you will find three alternatives and the on-chain route. I also share what farming two Aster airdrop seasons taught me.

Aster at a Glance

Aster is a perp DEX that works across BNB Chain, Ethereum, Solana, and Arbitrum. Traders use it for leveraged crypto trading, and it also offers perps on stocks and commodities. The project came out of a merger between two older protocols, Astherus and APX Finance. Its token launched in September 2025 and climbed several thousand percent within days.

ASTER itself is a BEP-20 token on BNB Chain. The maximum supply is 8 billion, and less than half of that circulates so far. Consequently, future unlocks deserve your attention. For a full look at the platform, read our Aster review. To see where it ranks against rivals, check the best perp DEX list.

The Binance Factor

You cannot talk about Aster without Binance. YZi Labs, the investment firm of Binance founder CZ, backs the project. CZ also praised the launch publicly, which helped spark the first rally. Soon after, Binance listed ASTER on its spot market.

That backing cuts both ways, however. Few tokens enjoy support this powerful. Yet Aster also inherits the baggage. Its early trading volumes drew criticism, and one major data site stopped tracking them for a while. Binance has its own history as well, which we covered in our Binance 10/10 analysis. So approach this token with open eyes.

My Experience Farming Aster

I farmed Aster during seasons one and two. Honestly, the airdrop was not as big as I had hoped. Since then, I have stopped farming it.

Still, plenty of people I know hold ASTER today. Their thesis is simple. They are waiting for Binance to put real marketing effort behind the token. If that happens, the upside could be large. But it is not a given, and nobody outside Binance knows the timing. Therefore, treat ASTER as a bet on that catalyst, not as a sure thing. We keep tracking new seasons on our Aster airdrop page.

Where to Buy ASTER: Binance Comes First

For this token, Binance is the main venue. It has the deepest ASTER liquidity by a wide margin. If you want to register there, use our Binance referral link. Not sure Binance is right for you? Then our Bybit vs Binance comparison weighs it against a strong alternative.

Create your account

First, sign up with your email or phone number. After that, complete the identity verification with a valid ID. Do not skip two-factor authentication, because it protects your funds.

Add funds

Next, deposit money through a bank transfer or a card. Transfers are usually cheaper, whereas cards are faster. You can also bring in USDT from elsewhere.

Buy ASTER

Open the spot market and search for ASTER/USDT. Use a market order for speed or a limit order for price control. Once the order fills, ASTER sits in your spot wallet.

Three alternatives

Prefer another exchange? You have good options. OKX lists ASTER and is my usual first pick for other coins. You can join through the OKX referral link. Kraken carries the token too and suits buyers who want a regulated name. Finally, Bybit has an active ASTER market, and the Bybit referral link comes with a welcome bonus.

Buying ASTER on the Aster DEX

Aster has its own spot market, so you can buy the token at the source. Start by connecting a wallet or logging in with email. Then deposit funds from one of the supported chains. After that, open the ASTER spot pair and place your order.

This route makes the most sense for people who plan to trade on Aster anyway. Activity on the platform counts toward its reward seasons, although past seasons paid less than many expected. If you want to try it, use our Aster referral link. Beginners, however, will find a centralized exchange easier.

Wallets, Networks, and the Contract

ASTER lives on BNB Chain. So when you withdraw from an exchange, choose BNB Smart Chain as the network. A wallet such as Trust Wallet supports it out of the box. You will also need a little BNB to pay gas for later transfers.

Always verify the token before moving funds. The official ASTER contract on BNB Chain is 0x000Ae314E2A2172a039B26378814C252734f556A. Other projects use similar names, so never rely on the ticker alone. Unsure whether to withdraw at all? Our piece on holding coins yourself or on an exchange helps you decide.

ASTER Perps

ASTER moves fast, which makes its perp markets busy. Binance, OKX, and Bybit all offer ASTER perps. So whichever exchange you picked above, futures are available in the same account. You can also trade ASTER perps on a competing DEX. Hyperliquid lists the market, and our Hyperliquid link gives a fee discount. Curious how Aster compares with another challenger? Then see our Lighter vs Aster breakdown. Whatever you choose, keep leverage modest, because this token can swing violently.

ASTER by Region

Access to ASTER is broad, but the best platform varies.

United States

Binance’s global platform does not serve US residents. Instead, look at the regulated options in our US exchange guide.

Europe

European users can choose between several licensed exchanges. We rank them in the Europe exchange guide.

Latin America

Binance is very popular across Latin America, though it is not the only choice. Compare the field in our LATAM exchange rankings.

East Asia

BNB Chain tokens have a big audience in East Asia. Because local rules differ, read the East Asia exchange guide first.

India

Many Indian traders already use Binance. Before you follow them, check the tax notes in our India exchange guide.

Need a different market? Then our exchange review collection has 40+ reviews, comparisons, and regional rankings.

Keep This Content Free

The Aster airdrop paid me less than I hoped, so referrals help more than farming did. Each sign-up link here earns us a commission and usually gives you a bonus. That keeps AirdropAlert free for every reader.

Final Words

ASTER is easy to buy, since Binance, OKX, Kraken, and Bybit all list it. The harder question is why you are buying. In essence, this token is a bet that Binance will push its favorite perp DEX. That may happen, or it may not. So size your position for both outcomes, verify the contract, and pick the correct network on withdrawal.

FAQ

Which exchanges list ASTER?

Binance, OKX, Kraken, and Bybit all list ASTER spot. Additionally, you can buy it on MEXC, Bitget, and Coinbase.

Is Aster owned by Binance?

No. However, YZi Labs, the investment firm of Binance founder CZ, backs the project. That is why the two are so closely linked.

Which blockchain is ASTER on?

ASTER is a BEP-20 token on BNB Chain. The Aster exchange itself supports several chains.

What is the maximum supply of ASTER?

The maximum supply is 8 billion tokens. Only part of that is in circulation today.

Is the Aster airdrop still worth farming?

That depends on your expectations. I farmed the first two seasons, and the rewards were smaller than I hoped. Check the current season terms before you commit time.

Can US residents buy ASTER?

Yes, on platforms that serve the US, such as Coinbase and Kraken. Binance’s global exchange is not available to US residents.
