Dave Portnoy Purchased $200,000 Worth of XRP
Barstool founder Dave Portnoy shared via X how he purchased a variety of crypto coins last night, making the most out of the latest market plunge. Taking it on X, Portnoy shared how he purchased $2M worth of crypto last night, investing nearly a million in XRP, while allocating $750K and $400K in XRP and ETH, respectively.
Portnoy is famous for selling his XRP at $2.66 earlier, right before the token erupted to hit $3.5 in a new haul. Portnoy’s latest investment moves come at a time when the market is bleeding profusely, with BTC plunging to hit $88K, an absolute all-time low from its earlier high of $120K.
The Barstool founder took to X to emphasize the timing of his purchase, calling it a smart investment phase to explore such purchases.
“Now, am I eligible for this? Because here comes the announcement. Last night, Monday, November 17th, if you want to look at what I did, here it is. I hope I’m not giving away nothing. I probably am, so I probably shouldn’t show up. 638 bought $500,000 of XRP. 637 bought 400,000 of ETH. 637 bought 750,000 of BTC. 636 bought 500 more or the reverse of XRP. So in total, last night, 1 million dollars of XRP, 400 ETH, and 750 BTC.”
Dave shared a new analogy, touting himself as a piranha hunting in bleeding markets to explain his latest crypto move.
“Blood in the streets. Dave’s like a piranha. Dave’s like a great white. He’s just a shark on fins. Oh, you know what? Let’s do it. I know we can’t clip it. Anyways, fins to the left, fins to the right, BTC everywhere. So we had a crypto, a little dip in the market. I’ve been holding, holding, holding, Braveheart, holding, holding, holding.
Last night, I went. So I bought $2 million with crypto: a million of XRP, 750 of Bitcoin to add to my collection, and 400 of ETH. So I don’t know. That’s 2 million. Did I just get 2 million entries into this contest? I hope so.
XRP Price and Its Future? What Lies Ahead
According to CoinCodex XRP Stats, Ripple may soon be on the verge of a breakout, hitting $3 by April, followed by $7 by 2030.
