Ripple’s XRP token has had quite a rollercoaster ride in the last six years. The asset struggled to gain steam from late 2020 till late 2024 due to a lawsuit from the SEC. XRP hit a new all-time high of $3.65 in July 2025 after the suit was settled. The bear market, unfortunately took over and XRP’s price has since fallen by more than 70%. Despite its struggles, XRP has all the ingredients it needs to hit the $5 mark in the next bull run. Let’s discuss.
XRP Has What It Takes To Hit $5 In The Next Bull Run
The first factor is regulatory clarity. XRP failed to hit a new all-time high during the 2021 bull run because of the SEC’s lawsuit against the fintech company. The financial regulator alleged that Ripple was selling unregistered securities. The suit came to an end in 2025 after a US judge ruled that the sale of XRP to retail customers did not fall under securities laws, but the sale of the token to institutional investors did. This brought substantial regulatory clarity for the project, pushing the coin to an all-time high.
Another factor that could propel XRP to the $5 mark in the next bull run is its ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds). ETFs have become a key player in the cryptocurrency sector. XRP saw the launch of several spot ETFs in late 2025. While crypto-based ETFs have taken a backseat amid a bear market, things will likely turn around once the market is back on its feet.

Regulatory clarity and ETF inflows could together push XRP to the $5 mark in the next bull run. The question is, when will the next bull run occur. Bitcoin (BTC) is the market leader and it tends to follow a four year pattern. BTC has hit new peaks in 2017, 2021, and 2025. If the pattern persists, we could see the next bull run hit a peak in 2029, which means that the upswing could start sometime in 2027.
