Binance Drops VIP 3 Asset Bar to $1M as 4x OTC Trading Credit Broadens Tier Access

Lower Thresholds and OTC Multipliers

Binance announced additional changes to its VIP Program on Tuesday, lowering the asset requirement for VIP 3 status and expanding how over‑the‑counter trading (OTC) activity contributes to tier qualification. The update builds on the exchange’s March 2026 VIP program refresh, which reduced several thresholds and introduced new pathways to recognize high‑value users earlier in their trading lifecycle.

Effective July 21, 2026, at 04:00 EST, Binance will reduce the wallet asset requirement for its VIP 3 tier from $3 million to $1 million. The revision is designed to streamline access to mid-tier institutional benefits and drive broader participation across its ecosystem. Qualified users will gain access to preferential fee structures, elevated account limits, advanced market intelligence and exclusive event invitations.

The exchange is also revising how OTC spot trading volume is counted toward VIP qualification. Under the new rules, OTC spot trading volume will be applied at a 4x multiplier when calculated as part of spot trading volume. To illustrate, the exchange said $1 million in OTC spot trading volume will count as $4 million toward the applicable threshold.

Previously, OTC‑related qualification was capped at VIP 4. By integrating OTC spot trading volume into the broader spot trading volume metric, Binance said eligible users can now progress through the full VIP framework up to VIP 9, provided they meet BNB balance and other requirements.

“We continue to refine the Binance VIP Program to better reflect how our users engage across the platform,” said Catherine Chen, Head of VIP and Institutional at Binance. “By lowering the VIP 3 asset holding threshold and recognizing OTC Spot Trading Volume within Spot Volume qualification, we are creating a more flexible and accessible path for users to progress through VIP tiers while maintaining clear, measurable criteria.”

Binance confirmed that VIP trading fees remain unchanged. Users who meet the updated criteria will be automatically upgraded daily with their tier reflecting the highest qualification path achieved.
