The Oscar token had supported the Shiba Inu’s legacy early this year by equipping it with a deflationary model. It also had an impact on the community through various charitable causes. However, things have now fallen apart with both the tokens not seeing eye-to-eye.
A recent tweet from the Oscar token highlights their growing disappointment with the Shiba Inu team. They went a step ahead, claiming that the SHIB team no longer “represents Ryoshi’s vision”, and their agenda “is not aligned with the interests of the SHIB army.”

The tweet also accuses the Shiba Inu team of using SHIB for their “personal financial interests.” They added, “This is not SHIB. It never was,” in a personal note to investors. Shiba Inu is reeling under pressure as its price has barely risen in the last two years.
Oscar Token & Shiba Inu Fallout
Several commentators accuse the Shiba Inu team of abandoning the token and looking elsewhere for financial growth. Despite the grievances, the Oscar team announced that their support for the Shibarium network will remain intact. “We want to make it clear that we will continue to support Shibarium through our charity portal, as we have done since day one. The SHIB community will always be welcome within our ecosystem.”
However, the Shiba Inu team is yet to respond to the Oscar token’s allegations on X. “This statement exists solely to publicly clarify that Oscar does not support the SHIB account, and in our view, this no longer represents what SHIB stands for,” read the tweet.
The fallout comes after K9 Finance threatened to cut support with the Shiba Inu team if they don’t compensate the victims of the $2.4 million hack. They gave a deadline of January 6, 2026, to sort out the issue, threatening to part ways if they don’t align with the demand.
