NVIDIA introduces NVQLink, a system architecture connecting quantum processors with GPU computing, aiming to accelerate quantum supercomputing across major scientific labs and quantum builders.
NVIDIA has announced the launch of NVQLink, a groundbreaking open system architecture designed to integrate the high-performance capabilities of GPU computing with quantum processors. This initiative aims to foster the development of accelerated quantum supercomputers and marks a significant stride in the field of quantum computing, according to NVIDIA Newsroom.
Collaboration with Leading Scientific Institutions
NVQLink is set to enhance the capabilities of numerous prestigious institutions, including Brookhaven National Laboratory, Fermi Laboratory, and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, among others. These collaborations will enable the development of hybrid quantum-classical systems, which are crucial for advancing applications in chemistry and materials science. The system’s open approach supports 17 quantum processing unit (QPU) builders, five controller builders, and nine U.S. national labs.

Quantum computing is known for its complexities, primarily due to the delicate nature of qubits, which require sophisticated calibration and error correction.
