Following HBO’s attempt to uncover the identity of Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto, another documentary titled “Seeking Satoshi: The Mystery Bitcoin Creator” is set to reveal the true identity of the famous pseudonymous crypto figure.

“Seeking Satoshi: The Mystery Bitcoin Creator” will be streamed on YouTube as a series of five 20-minute films, which will later be compiled into a feature-length documentary for TV broadcast in early March. Channel 4, a British television network, describes the documentary as a “fun, journalistic, gonzo journey” aimed at discovering the person behind the Satoshi Nakamoto persona.
The documentary will explore how the individuals and ideas central to Bitcoin’s creation have evolved from the tech fringes to the center of politics. The series also hints at the possibility of a conspiracy that could endanger democracy.
This latest attempt to uncover Bitcoin’s creator comes after HBO’s similar venture released in October. HBO’s documentary ‘Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery’ suggested that Peter Todd, a prominent figure in the BTC community, could be Satoshi Nakamoto. The documentary’s conclusion faced immediate backlash from the crypto community. Ki Young Ju, the founder of CryptoQuant, called the documentary “disgusting,” and BitMex Research labeled HBO’s revelation as “wrong.” After the creators faced heavy trolling, Todd himself admitted that while the speculation was dangerous, it was also humorous. “This nonsense is a genuine danger, as crazy people might try to get my non-existent fortune. But it’s also hilarious,” Todd wrote on X.
As for the latest BTC documentary, it will be hosted by reporter Gabriel Gatehouse, known for his BBC podcast “The Coming Storm.” Executive producer Will Anderson describes the documentary as transforming the manhunt into “a surreal quest to uncover a potential plot by a group of Silicon Valley power brokers to undermine democracy.”
