CZ Declares BNB Meme Coin Season As GIGGLE, 4 Soar To ATHs

Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao, aka CZ, declared the start of a meme coin season on BNB Chain as tokens including GIGGLE and 4 surged to new all-time highs (ATHs).

Giggle Fund (GIGGLE) soared more than 55% in the past 24 hours while 4 jumped 23% to trade at $0.1933 as of 6:35 a.m. EST, according to CoinMarketCap

The surge in meme coin trading lifted BNB Chain decentralized exchange volumes above $6 billion, one of the strongest trading days in the ecosystem’s history.

“BNB meme szn!” CZ said on X. “I didn’t expect this at all. And people keep asking me to predict the future.”

4, a crypto that uses an image of the Binance co-founder holding up four fingers, has skyrocketed 351% over the past week. It set a new ATH of $0.2659 earlier, but has since pulled back by about 28%.

Meanwhile, GIGGLE has soared 649% over the past 7 days after hitting a new ATH of $140.95 a few hours ago. It has since pared gains by about 5%.

GIGGLE’s rise has been tied to the Giggle Academy, which is a charitable education initiative founded by CZ. This project has already raised over $5.5 million through fees generated by trading of the meme coin.

Other tokens that surged include  客服小何, which means “Binance Life” in Chinese.

Traders Profit Big From BNB Meme Coin Frenzy

Traders trading BNB meme coins have achieved some impressive profits. 

Bubblemaps said 100,000 traders have bought new meme coins on BNB Chain, and 70% of them are in profit. Of these traders, one person was able to achieve a profit of more than $10 million.

Another 40 traders profited over $1 million each, while 900 of the traders generated profits of more than $100K, Bubblemaps said.

On-chain analytics platform Lookonchain also commented on the recent BNB meme coin frenzy, and highlighted some of the top traders in the ecosystem. 

One of those traders, who goes by the X username “@hexiecs,” made $5.5 million trading Binance Life token, $361.7K on “4,” and $219.5K on GIGGLE, the platform wrote.

Meanwhile, the trader “@brc20niuni” made $5.4 million on the Binance Life token, $736K on “4,” and $228.3K on GIGGLE. There is also “@GCsheng,” a trader who made $4.8 million on Binance Life.

YZi Labs Commits $1B To Continue BNB Ecosystem Growth

Amid the meme coin frenzy, CZ’s family office, YZi Labs, has announced the launch of Builder Fund and committed $1 billion toward the growth of the BNB ecosystem. The funds will mainly be used to support teams building a range of applications on the BNB Chain.

That’s as the BNB Chain has been seeing an uptick in the number of transactions and the number of daily active users transacting on the network, alongside the soaring DEX volumes.

The ecosystem’s native token, BNB, has also been printing a series of ATHs in recent weeks. In just the past 24 hours, the token set yet another record high above $1,300, enabling it to leapfrog XRP and Tether’s USDT to become the third-largest crypto by market cap.
