BNB Coin Hits ATH As CZ Net Worth Tops $76 Billion

BNB Coin surged to a new all-time high (ATH) of $858.17, pushing Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao’s net worth to about $76.46 billion.

The native token of the Binance ecosystem, climbed more than 7% before easing slightly to $854.96 at 5:15 a.m. EST, according to CoinMarketCap.

Zhao, known by his nickname CZ,  is estimated to hold about 64% of BNB coin’s circulating supply of 139.28 million tokens, or 89.1 million tokens, according to a June 2024 report by Forbes.

If he still holds 64% of the supply of BNB coin, his current net worth would be greater than that of American philanthropist Julia Koch and her family, and possibly also Thomas Peterffy, founder of Interactive Brokers, according to the Forbes rich list.

That would make CZ the 21st-richest person.

Surging TVL Boosts BNB Price

Following the recent rally, BNB’s price is now up more than 12.5% in the past week and almost 33% in the past month. That strong price performance coincides with flourishing on-chain activity for the Binance Smart Chain (BSC).

Data from DefiLlama shows the Total Value Locked (TVL) on the network has reached a 2025 record of more than $7.15 billion. This, according to the DeFi data aggregator, is a 3% uptick in the last 24 hours.

This is also the highest it has reached this year, although it’s still far lower than the record highs around $21.78 billion that were set in May 2021.
