The crypto and the global non-fungible token market are currently facing a tough bear market season, which has left the flagship crypto “Bitcoin” and NFTs far below its 2024 peak. In light of the ongoing bear market, the “Crypto is Bullshit,” a non-fungible token collection from Beeple, has come back to life a resold for nearly a million dollars. This NFT collection has climbed to the top five most-selling NFT collections.
Beeple’s Special Edition Tops Amid Crypto Bear Market
Data compiled by cryptoslam.io, an-chain crypto market data aggregator and a renowned non-fungible token explorer, shows that the Beeple Special Edition, a non-fungible token collection that features NFT collection like ‘Crypto is Bullshit’ and ‘Politics is Bullshit,’ has surged in sales volume today. In the past 24 hours, the Beeple Special Edition NFT series has amassed a trading sales volume of $905,481, taking the fourth position in the NFT market chart.
The ‘Crypto Is Bullshit’ and ‘Politics is Bullshit’ resurgence appears amid broader crypto and NFT market downtrend. In the past three months, the flagship crypto Bitcoin has been down over 15% from its previous all-time high price. At the time of writing, Bitcoin is exchanging hands at $82,000. On the other hand, the daily NFT market sales volume is below $20 million, down over 50% from its previous peak.
Mike Winkelmann, better known as Beeple, is a renowned digital artist and animator known for selling non-fungible token collections. Beeple uses various media to create comical works that make political and social commentary while using pop culture figures as references. The NFT artist joined the crypto market in 2018 but stayed passive until 2020 when he started learning about the then-newly launched NFT technology.

In December 2020, the NFT artist Beeple tokenized his “Everydays: The First 5000 Days” as an NFT collection, which later gained massive value and sold for nearly $70 million. Days before the United States 2020 presidential election, Beeple launched more NFTs on the NFT market platform Nifty Gateway, including an NFT collection called “Politics Is Bullshit,” which sold for over $6.6 million.
Since then, the NFT artist has launched other NFT collections, such as The Mother of Evolution, Human One, a kinetic 3-D video sculpture, Pilgrimage, Spring and Summer Collection 2021, Genesis NFT Collection, All Hail The King Collection, Everydays: Group Effort by Beeple and Heaven + Hell. Other NFTs include Time The Future of Business Super Rare, Beeple Everydays: The Rebirth of Godzilla and Crypto Is Bullshit NFT collection.
