Cronos (CRO), in partnership with Crypto.com, introduces a groundbreaking service enabling seamless crypto transfers to prepaid cards, bridging decentralized and traditional finance.
In a landmark development for the blockchain industry, Cronos (CRO) has announced the launch of a new service enabling seamless cryptocurrency transfers directly to prepaid cards. This innovative feature, realized in collaboration with Crypto.com, marks a significant milestone in the integration of decentralized and traditional financial systems.
Revolutionizing Crypto Off-Ramping
The service allows users to connect their web3 non-custodial wallets on Cronos EVM or Cronos zkEVM to a Crypto.com prepaid card. Users can then top up their prepaid cards by transferring funds from Cronos EVM or zkEVM to their Crypto.com wallets, and subsequently to the prepaid card in a single click. If a token is not directly supported, it is automatically converted into USDC or ETH, facilitating near-instant access to crypto assets for real-world spending.
Industry First in DeFi
This pioneering feature significantly reduces the complexity and wait times typically associated with converting crypto to fiat. According to Ken Timsit, Head of Cronos Labs, the service allows users to off-ramp their crypto assets almost instantly, enhancing the practicality of holding digital assets by making them readily accessible for everyday use.

The partnership with Cronos showcases a shared vision for simplifying user experiences and expanding the utility of cryptocurrencies in daily financial activities.
Future Developments
Following its February 2025 launch, Cronos plans to explore an automatic transfer system for DeFi yields. This will enable users to directly route staking rewards and other earnings to their Crypto.com prepaid cards, further embedding decentralized finance into everyday financial transactions.
