The SUI cryptocurrency is down almost 17% in the last 24 hours, with trading volume and its market cap falling dramatically in the same period. Despite the overall crypto market falling today, there is still optimism surrounding the digital asset industry. Currently, 10 cryptocurrencies have market caps over $10M on the market. However, there are several knocking on the door of that number, including the SUI cryptocurrency.
SUI is well-positioned to reach a $10 billion market cap, driven by strong institutional adoption and ecosystem expansion, according to some analysts. Last week, the asset attracting $15.5 million in inflows, performing well amid a market downturn. While it seems like that down spell has caught up to SUI, there are still rumblings about it being one of a few altcoins that could see huge gains this Spring.
Sui’s derivatives market activity further supports its bullish outlook. While open interest dipped 2.63% to $583.44 million, the long/short ratios remain firmly bullish, with OKX at 3.07 and Binance SUI/USDT at 2.8052, showing a strong preference for long positions. In addition, technical projections also highlight the optimism, with analysts suggesting SUI could reach $6. If momentum continues, a 10% increase to $3.15 would be enough to push Sui’s market cap past the $10 billion threshold.

Currently, SUI trades at its low support of $2.63. The trendline, acting as resistance, has prevented upward movements, but a breakout could fuel a rally. If SUI returns to and surpasses $2.90, bullish sentiment could strengthen, pushing the price toward $3.40.
The spike in daily active SUI addresses reflects not just speculative interest but real utility and engagement within the ecosystem. If the broader market conditions remain favorable, especially with a potential return of Bitcoin above $100,000, SUI may come back in the coming days.
