Ripple Expands Cross-Border Payments With Unicâmbio Partnership
There are few firms in the cryptocurrency sector that are doing the kinds of work Ripple is doing. The company works to make cross-border transactions easier, quicker, and more efficient. Moreover, it has long been one of the most important digital asset firms, issuing the immensely popular XRP token.
Now, it is working to expand its reach and offerings to keep helping the world. Indeed, they took a major step forward Monday when Ripple announced it will be partnering with Unicâmbio to bring its cross-border payment solution to Portugal, allowing easier transactions with Brazil.

“Our partnership with Unicâmbio is a significant milestone in Ripple’s European expansion,” UK & Europea managing director Cassie Craddock said in a recent press release. “Portugal has developed a thriving crypto ecosystem, so we are delighted to pen up our payment solutions to partner there.” Moreover, its presence will work to “strengthen the economic bonds” between both Brazil and Portugal.
“Portugal and Brazil share deep economic and cultural ties, with significant money flows between the two countries,” Unicâmbio board member Adriana Jeronimo said. “By leveraging blockchain technology,” they will be able to help transform those transactions by dropping costs and making them near instant.
