Hyperliquid shared a post on X today, January 6, 2026, which highlighted its growth and key achievements over the past year. According to the post, the platform today looks very different from what it was a year ago. Back in early 2025, the HyperEVM had not yet been launched, and only a small group of early builders were active on the platform.
However, if you look at the end of 2025, the ecosystem expanded to hundreds of development teams, dozens of regional communities, hosting events, and trillions in cumulative trading volume.
The platform has managed to achieve all these great milestones without any external funding, with all protocol fees being returned to the community. Hyperliquid emphasized its commitment to crypto’s core principles, which are fairness, permissionless participation and countering entrenched industry practices.
The official X account of Hyperliquid also posted an art piece that depicts the growth of the platform, which also features popular apps and teams that are functional within the ecosystem.

Hyperliquid made a great progress in 2025, it posted all-time high key metrics and solidified its position in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space. Let’s quickly have a look at all its achievements.
The platform’s 24-hour trading volume hit $32 billion, which is more than 2024’s $15 billion. The platform’s open interest rose up to $16 billion in 2025, from $4 billion in 2024.
Total Value Locked (TVL) has almost tripled to $6 billion and 24-hour protocol revenue has jumped to $20 million from $3.5 million. Meanwhile, the active user base exploded to 1.4 million, up from just 300,000.
Analysts note that these gains were driven organically, which were powered by grassroots adoption rather than venture capital, with Hyperliquid’s fee-redistribution model fueling a self-sustaining growth cycle that attracted traders, liquidity providers and developers alike.
Breakthrough Product Launches Fuel Ecosystem Boom
The main strategy that Hyperliquid used in 2025 was innovation. The platform launched native features so that it can increase usability and composability across the platform. Builders gained new tools, and traders benefited from the deeper liquidity and lower costs.
There were several releases but major releases included the HyperEVM launch with HyperCore integration, cross-chain spot asset bridging via Unit, a permissionless validator set, native staking utilities, customizable spot quote assets and the Hypurr NFT drop.
The platform also introduced USDH governance that was led by community vote, HIP-3 for permissionless perpetuals, native USDC integration, portfolio margin pre-alpha access, and the HYPE burn fund to strengthen tokenomics.
Together, these upgrades created an ecosystem where HyperEVM apps interact without any issues with perpetual trading, staking and spot markets, which delivers performance rivaling centralized exchanges, but without the custody risks.
