OKX Ventures invests in Aria Protocol to bring real-world intellectual property assets onchain, enhancing liquidity and investment opportunities for music rights and other IP.
OKX Ventures, the investment division of the globally recognized crypto exchange and blockchain technology firm OKX, has announced a strategic investment in Aria Protocol. This investment is part of the Story x OKX Ventures $10M Startup Fund, aimed at leveraging blockchain technology to bring real-world intellectual property assets (IP RWAs) onchain, according to OKX Ventures.
Investment in Aria Protocol
Aria Protocol, a Web3 platform, is designed to enable users to invest in and earn royalties from iconic IP assets, which have traditionally been out of reach for most investors. Built on the Story Blockchain and part of the Story Ecosystem, Aria has successfully raised $10.95 million to acquire income-generating music rights. These include works performed by globally renowned artists such as Justin Bieber, BLACKPINK, and BTS. The platform has already distributed over $314,000 in royalties and generated more than $14 million in onchain volume.
The project has garnered support from major investors like Polychain, Neoclassic, and Story Foundation, among others, to transform iconic IP into liquid, fungible assets on the blockchain. OKX Ventures’ investment signifies a commitment to further collaborations with Aria Protocol, as they aim to enhance the tokenization and liquidity of real-world IP assets.
Future Plans and Vision
Jeff Ren, the founder of OKX Ventures, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the innovative approach of Aria in turning music and media rights into programmable onchain assets. This development marks a significant advancement for creators and the broader Web3 ecosystem.
