The Cronos price surged more than 39% in the last 24 hours to trade at $0.2211 as of 4:15 a.m. EST after Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) announced a partnership with Crypto.com and Yorkville Acquisitions to create a $6.42 billion CRO treasury firm.

Trump Media To Create “Largest Publicly Traded CRO Treasury”
The companies said in an Aug. 25 joint announcement that they will work together to establish the Trump Media Group CRO Strategy.
Its digital asset treasury will be funded with $1 billion worth of CRO tokens, $420 million in cash and warrants, as well as a $5 billion credit line from one of Yorkville’s affiliates.
That would make the treasury firm the “first and largest publicly traded CRO treasury company,” the companies said. It could also become the “largest digital asset treasury company to market cap ratio in history.”

Trump Media has also purchased $105 million worth of CRO tokens, while Crypto.com acquired $50 million worth of Trump Media shares, according to a post on X by the exchange’s CEO, Kris Marszalek.
CRO will also become a utility token for Truth Social, which is a media platform owned by TMTG.
The new entity will also operate a validator node for the Cronos network. This will enable the treasury firm to participate directly in the network’s security and governance as well as generate staking rewards. As such, the company will compound its CRO holdings while offsetting its operational costs.
CRO Price Met With Resistance After Treasury News Rally
Once news of the partnership and CRO treasury broke, a wave of buying activity entered CRO’s charts. This enabled it to break above the resistance at $0.1686, according to data from GeckoTerminal.
That move also saw the altcoin break above the next resistance level at $0.1985 and try to do the same with the subsequent technical barrier at $0.2273. It was able to briefly clear this obstacle, but has since pulled back to below the mark.

Some selling pressure has entered CRO’s charts following the recent rally, as evident by the wicks present above the last 2 daily candles. In addition to this, buying volume has also dropped.
Yesterday, the altcoin’s trading volumes reached $10.4 million, a figure that has dropped to around $3.628 million in the past 24 hours.
Nevertheless, the CRO price still has solid technical support, with indicators such as the Relative Strength Index (RSI), Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD), and Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs) still leaning bullish.
That’s as the RSI remains sloped to the upside after rising from deep oversold territory to just below 80. While the current reading is above the 70 overbought threshold, it’s not unusual for RSI readings to remain high for sustained periods of time when a crypto is pumping.
With a company linked to the Trump family getting involved with CRO, that may be the case in this instance. However, traders will want to keep an eye on the indicator, because it could lead to a brief pullback.
Meanwhile, the MACD line crossed above the MACD Signal line in the last 48 hours. This is a classic bullish flag that suggests the crypto has entered into a positive trend. What’s more, the growing gap between the MACD and MACD Signal lines shows strengthening bullish momentum.
Adding to the bullish outlook is the current alignment of the 9, 20 and 50 EMAs. The 9 EMA is positioned above the 20 EMA, and both are positioned above the longer 50 EMA. This is a bullish alignment, which points to a continued rise in the CRO price if bulls act on the signal.
With the current technical signs seen with the MACD, RSI and EMAs, CRO seems to have the momentum and bullish backing needed to climb higher over the next 24-48 hours.
