DJ 3LAU Tokenizes His New Song “Will You” As An NFT

The non-fungible token tech continues playing a significant role in reshaping the music industry. 3LAU Tokenizes His New Song On Bitcoin

In an August 13 blog post, Ord.io confirmed that DJ Justin Blau has inscribed his new song “will you” as a non-fungible token collection on the Bitcoin blockchain network.Ord.io is a platform focused on Bitcoin NFTs, best known as Ordinals. It serves as an explorer and marketplace for these digital assets, allowing NFT users to search, browse, and interact with inscriptions on the Bitcoin blockchain network.

Better known by his stage name 3lau, Justin Blau is a rarity in the music industry, a successful recording artist, DJ, and producer whose main goal is not fame, but helping others. Much of 3lau’s music incorporates electro house, dubstep, deep house, and progressive house. Some of the tracks from Justin Blau include Easy, Bright Lights, Hot Water, Runaway, Touch, Better with You, Everything, and more.

Under the recent integration, Blau has leveraged Ord.io’s music tokenizing capability to tokenize his latest song “Will You” as a non-fungible token collection. Blau inscribed his 3.919MB song on block 907,778, at 2,957,085 sats. A Satoshi, aka a “sat,” is a subunit of bitcoin (BTC). In simpler terms, 1 satoshi is equal to 0.00000001 Bitcoin. The inscription will allow this song to remain on the blockchain forever.

Blau is not new to the non-fungible token market. In fact, Blau is one of the veterans who joined the non-fungible token space during its infancy in 2020. At the time, DJ Blau made a name for himself in the NFT space by selling over $11 million worth of NFTs, including a record-setting single NFT sale of $3.6 million. He’s also the co-founder of Royal, a Web3 startup that allows fans to invest in artists’ music through tokenized royalties.
